Singapore's manufacturing output rebounds 0.1 pct in April

Singapore Economic Development Board said on Friday that the country's manufacturing output rose 0.1 percent year-on-year in April, compared to a revised 4.3 percent decrease this March.

Excluding biomedical manufacturing, the output declined 2.1 percent year-on-year in April, compared to a revised 8 percent drop in the previous month.

Meanwhile, on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, Singapore's manufacturing output rose 2.4 percent in April. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, the output grew 5.7 percent.

As for the performance of different clusters, the electronics cluster's output declined 0.6 percent year-on-year in April, while the biomedical manufacturing cluster's output rose 11.2 percent in the month, the precision engineering cluster's output declined 10.4 percent, the transport engineering cluster's output declined 1.1 percent, the chemicals cluster's output rose 1.9 percent, and the general manufacturing industries cluster's output declined 1.1 percent.
